What is a Sherpa anyway?

By pure definition a Sherpa is an expert Himalayan mountaineer who partners with mountain climbers on their quest to reach the world’s highest summits. They know the Himalayan topography like they know their own backyard…in fact the Himalayan peaks are their backyard. Part breeding, part DNA, Sherpas know how to get you where you want to go.

Tenzing Norgay

Tenzing Norgay, the most “Famous” Sherpa, was the first to reach the summit of Mt. Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary on May 29, 1953.

So why did you name the company Sherpa Marketing?

Glad you asked. Because we are about getting you where you want to go. It doesn’t matter how far the distance, steep the climb or difficult the conditions may be. We reach our intended destination. Sometimes we are hired to do the base camp planning; sometimes it is to provide guidance on an already planned “expedition;” sometimes we simply do the “heavy lifting” that is beyond the capacity of the existing staff.

We thought using this name and metaphor was a perfect analogy for what we felt was missing from business… someone to provide guidance and support to simply ‘get it done’. Ultimately, like a Sherpa, we will get you there!
